NYCCAH’s 7th Annual Anti-Hunger Serve-A-Thon

January 13, 2010

Join New Yorkers on January 16, 17, and 18, 2010 in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday by partaking in the New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH) 7th Annual Anti-Hunger Serve-A-Thon.

The event’s goal is to honor Dr. King’s legacy by encouraging New Yorkers to make his birthday “a day on, not a day off.” As Dr. King worked against poverty and apathy, New Yorkers are invited to do the same.

Join us Saturday for our Kick-Off Event at the Riverside Church. We will be commemorating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and kicking-off our 7th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Serve-a-Thon at the site of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famed Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence speech. The event includes a continental breakfast and a musical performance by Julliard students.  Speakers include Donna Smith from CNCS, Council Members Jullisa Ferreras and Inez Dickens, Riverside Rev. Coleman, and Joel Berg.
