February 11, 2010

Michelle Obama announced the release of the Food Environment Atlas this week.   The atlas, created by the USDA, is a tool that can map food environment factors. Factors such as food prices, store proximity, food and nutrition assistance programs and community characteristics influence the food choices people make.  The Food Environment Atlas allows users to view data for 90 indicators of the food environment.  The data covers food choices, health and well-being and community characteristics.
